Dust Your Shoulders Off
One of my favorite things about fashion is adding layers and texture to a look. Could you be all set with a top and bottoms or a simple dress? Of course, but word on the street is “you only live once” and I’m not tryin’ to live it low key. I want to accessorize and amplify everything about life and that most definitely includes my style.
A Summer Duster
Today, I am bringing you three [3!] ways to style a summer duster. It’s lightweight and can bring your look to the next level without added heat. I adore this DR2 duster from Nordstrom Rack. I picked it up a few weeks ago with this exact post in mind.
Look 1: Duster + Dress Combo
This dress is HAUTE off the rack. No seriously, when I purchased it at Loft two weeks ago, the sales associate didn’t even know it was on the floor. Could it be any more beautiful paired with this duster [Chandler Bing voice]? I absolutely love how the duster drapes over the dress and they both bend and sway in unison. The covered button detailing is icing on the cake for me. This dress is a MUST if you are a Loft-shopper, and if not – it just might turn you into one.
Look Two: Duster + Shorts
Necklace: Target [SugarFix]
This is the perfect look for this weekend’s music festival, Forecastle, in Louisville. When it comes to 2018 summer trends, button front denim is topping the lists. The boho detail is worth whatever hassel endured during bathroom breaks [especially in a port-a-potty – yuck]. This open knit sweater was featured on one of my Instagram stories in June and will be making it’s way to the highlight reel on my new account soon. With all the extras I’ve thrown on this simple top and bottom ensemble – have I convinced you to go the extra style mile?
Look 3: Duster + Pants
Okay, okay this is as simple as it gets: duster as top. I choose to think of myself in this outfit hosting a luncheon in my Palm Springs estate. It’s breezy and the dress code is something like fancy casual. The baubles and heels bring the fancy, denim brings the casual and all I want to know is, who’s bringing the champagne?
You Pick Three
You know I like to keep it stylish and affordable. The one thing I love about today’s three-part look is that so many pieces were used multiple times and ways. The DR2 duster is the obvious [three], then this amazing handbag [three], followed by my three-strand necklace [two] and belt [two]. Which look is your favorite? Dare to conquer all three? I want to know! Send me your duster-driven looks and I’ll feature them on my Instagram stories.
