Life is finally returning to normal after our week long vacation with 80 of our family members. Hilton Head delivered the sunshine and heat as promised which was a welcomed break from the [endless] stretch rainy days in Kentucky.
As a mommy of 2, I knew full well my days of lounging in a chair, perfecting my sun-kissed glow were a thing of the past. While bathing suit shopping this year, I looked for something that would keep me modestly covered as I bent over playing in water with the littles. This may not be a tall order for some women, but with my particular bust size, it’s hard to find a suit with support and style that doesn’t cost a pretty penny. I set off on my search to mix and match tops and bottoms to create my perfect beach mom-kini! Major props to seller jdhrtbrk on Poshmark for selling me these adorable high-waisted bottoms for a bargain price of $11 [plus shipping].
Once I received the bottoms [in 3 days!!], I set off on my search for a perfect top. I’ve always had great bust experience with Victoria’s Secret bathing suits so I started there first. I wanted to order the Victoria’s Secret Angel Convertible top in navy, but it was such a hot commodity that it was on back-order until October. I settled for the CloseUp Halter [one in hot pink, one in navy].
Luckily, after I shopped the VS website, I decided to check Macys.com and stumbled upon a navy Vince Camuto bikini top that ended up being the winner [see first photo]. The straps are removable so I can wear it as a bra top, halter, cross back, or bandeau. I chose the halter straps because it provided me the most support while wrangling kids in the ocean!
The best part about this bikini [other than being able to bend over without embarrassment] is that it’s stylish enough to wear for happy hour. I threw on my mom’s white button down cover up and a pair of aviators for our afternoon at The Tiki Bar.
