My Morning Skin Care Routine
Six months ago I implemented two new [to me] products into my morning skin care routine and it has been a game changer for my complexion. Can you guess what it is?
Upon waking, I splash warm water on my face. I use my Norwex hand towel to dry it off, simultaneously removing any residual bacteria. You can read more about my love for Norwex and their body cloths here. After toweling off, I pull out my first facial product: Yes to Tomatoes Micellar Cleansing Water. I shake it vigorously to activate the charcoal properties, then press two pumps to a cotton pad before applying to my face.
I’ve been a charcoal face wash fan for years so this product wasn’t far outside of my comfort zone. The micellar water cleans and moisturizes my skin.
My secret weapon is Apple Cider Vinegar! Despite my best skin care efforts, I constantly battled breakouts and cystic pimples [ouch!]. Since incorporating this into my morning routine my skin has changed for the better. While I will still field a pimple or two, I attribute my clearer skin to this inexpensive yet effective household product.
I give the bottle a shake then pour a teaspoon worth of vinegar onto a cotton pad. I slide the pad all over my face [avoiding my eyes], along my jawline and down my neck. Yes, it smells strong…it is vinegar after all. However, after a few
After running out of eye cream [another try + buy], I picked up Glow by Dr. Brandt Invigorating Retinol Eye Cream at TJ Maxx earlier this summer. This is one of my best Beauty Buy + Try of the summer [not including makeup, obviously -that Smashbox palette reigns supreme]. This little .5 fluid ounce tube leaves my under-eye area hydrated and glowing all while smoothing the appearance of wrinkles.
I pump a little dab on my ring finger, rubbed together with my opposite ring finger, and applied to my entire lid and under eye area. I am obsessed and will be purchasing it again.
Thanks to my morning cleansing combination, my skin is living the good life. When there is a pimple to treat, I break out [no pun intended!] my go-to, tried and true acne-on-the-spot product: Clean and Clear Persa-Gel 10.
While often duplicated for generic store brand, I never go off-brand when it comes to this. I have been using this for acne spot treament for nearly ten years and have yet to find something that does the pimple eliminating job as well.
Easy as 1, 2, 3…4.
In four easy steps my face is clean and prepared for the day. Since I workout in the morning, I do not apply any other products, that’s right, not even moisturizer! The Micellar Water completely hydrates my skin without the need for an added layer of AM lotion. I take a wet Norwex Body Cloth over my face to remove any grease or grime after my work-out and before applying my makeup [if applicable].

My nighttime routine is completely different, but also effective in keeping with the theme of bright and clear skin. I can’t wait to share that with you in the future. So many blogs to write, so little time!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I’ve been looking forward to a glass of Rose Champagne all week to celebrate a little business victory! What is on tap for your weekend? Possibly a Target run to the beauty aisle? Let me know in the comments below!
