All The Glitters
While preparing to co-host a Monograms and Mimosas Bridal Shower, I spent a majority of time sewing, spray painting, and knee deep in glitter. The Maid of Honor comes with a lifetime supply of glitter, many months and years after the fact.
Katie’s wedding color was fuchsia pink and her wedding invitations had champagne/gold glitter so I combined the two for the ultimate girly theme.
With Mimosas being an intricate part of the shower’s theme, a fabulous Mimosa spread is a must! The bar was set with 3 mixers [raspberry lemonade, cranberry juice, and orange juice] and 3 garnishes [raspberries,
strawberries, and cherries] add to each glass of champagne. Labels on fuschia and glitter cardstock hung from the neck of the carafe tied with a fuchsia ribbon. Garnish labels were printed on white cardstock and taped around the garnish vase.
Champagne glasses prepared by the co-MOH were handcrafted and personalized for each guest.
I purchased cylinder vases from the Dollar Store and spray painted them a champagne gold color. Once they dried, I taped off a section at the bottom and top of the vase, painted said section with mod podge, and covered in champagne gold glitter. We filled these vases with an assortment of pink flowers courtesy of Mrs. Wood and Danielle!
To keep in theme, I bought large plastic plates from the Dollar Store and spray painted them with gold glitter (my garage floor still has the marks to prove it!). I used these plates as chargers for the cheaper paper plates and plastic utensils. For each place setting, I embroidered an “M” (for Katie’s new last name) on a white cloth napkin. The last element of the tablescape was a piece of paper entitled “How Well Do You Know The Bride?” which we used as the classic bridal shower game.

We chose brunch-like food that includes a variety of salads, mini-BLTs, and a delicious gooey butter coffee cake. The guests would have starved (or been quite tipsy) without the help of Mrs. Wood, Danielle and my mom!

I decided to put those lessons to work for the shower favors. I made square sugar cookies and iced them with a pink letter “M”. Any really sad looking ones you see, I blame Danielle ;)!! I tied off the cellophane bags with a pink ribbon and thank you tag that featured Katie and Mickey’s monogram.
Monogram Thank You Tags: Polka Dot Cheeks In addition to the cookie favors, Loran, a fellow bridesmaid and co-host made a special batch of Limoncella for all the guests!
Last, but not least, I decorated with 2 signs I made for Katie, Martha Stewart flower poms and a wreath featuring a glittered M.

And in return, she gifted the 6 bridesmaid hosts with these monogrammed jewelry boxes from Sterling Cut Glass. This is honestly, one of my most favorite hostess gifts. I use it nightly when taking off my jewelry.
Here’s a look at the outfit I wore for the shower. It’s one of my faves and I can’t wait to fit back into it next spring:
Ruffled Neck top: Forever 21 (Spring 2013), Slim Crop Pants: Forever 21 (Spring 2013) Earrings: Pearl Studs, Shoes (not shown): Steve Madden espadrilles in nude (Spring 2013)
