Earlier this spring, I featured a baby shower that I had thrown with my sister, mom and aunt for my brother Jason and his wife Alli. Before there was a wedding band and a baby bump, there was a rehearsal dinner.
The rehearsal dinner was to take place on February 15 at The Montgomery Inn Boat House in Cincinnati, Ohio. The room itself was like any other restaurant party room: rows of tables, a buffet area, restaurant grade linens, and no extra flair. My mom was so worried it would look more
like a business meeting than a pre-wedding festivity. Since Jason is the only son (and quite possibly the favorite child), my mom wanted the rehearsal dinner to be special and memorable. I suppose
that’s how I got roped into the plans. She allotted $300 in the decor/supplies category and sent me on my way.
I became inspired by old love letters from former presidents and other great men in history and there my party theme was born. This was my first time creating invitations for someone else’s event and I’m thankful to say that my design craft has grown.
In addition to the letters, I lifted quotes out of 2 infamous letters and had them imprinted on beverage napkins. The eggplant color didn’t turn out as I had hoped, but I love the cream with eggplant writing. For Your Party let’s you customize your napkins with 4 lines, a wide selection of colors, and all for a great price.
