High Five Fridays
High fives all around! We made it to Friday! It’s mind-blowing to me that we are 4 weeks out from back-to-school. Summer is speeding by and I’m not sure how to feel about it. I mean, I could use a reprieve from the 90’s, but I’m not quite ready to get back into the school-days hustle.
Today I am sharing five things that are high on my list of things I’m loving right now.
Girl Wash Your Face

This book just topped the New York Times Best Sellers list this week so I’m not breaking new ground here when I tell you it’s a special one. Girl Wash Your Face is 241 pages of Rachel Hollis dropping truth bombs and obliterating the lies we like to tell ourselves. My family knows I am crazy for inspirational non-fiction books. I am on mission to live my happiest life and this book was a natural “next read” for me. Here’s an excerpt that resonated deep in my bones:
“…Stop waiting for someone else to fix your life! Stop assuming that someday it will magically improve on its own. Stop presuming that if you only had the right job, the right man, the right house, the right car, the right whatever that your life will become what you’ve always dreamed of. Be honest about who you are and what you need to do to make change. Girl, get ahold of your life…”
– Rachel Hollis, Girl Wash Your Face
These words along with many of her others are largely responsible for the wildfire in my heart and pouring into Ooh La Laura. Need someone to shine a light in your eyes, hold up a mirror, tell you the truth? This one will do.

Jade Roller
Speaking of the resurgence of Ooh La Laura – these days, I am burning the midnight oil and waking up with puffy eyes. While more sleep is the obvious solution, this jade roller is a helluva back up plan. I keep this secret weapon in our refrigerator. While I drink my morning coffee, I roll the cool stone upward and outward for two minutes. The mini-facial massage leaves my eyes de-puffed and my face brighter.

Trello
Ask anyone that knew me in high school, I am a planner girl. That being said, I also like to see the big picture which is exactly what Trello does for me. Trello is a [free] web-based project management system that allows you to create project cards with checklists, collaborations and due dates. It’s not just for small businesses either. If you’re anything like me, there are a million ideas floating around from work to family life to DIY projects. Trello allows you to brain dump it all into one system and organize accordingly.

Adjustable Laptop Desk
My modern farmhouse laptop desk has been a game changer for my midnight hustle. STC and I read a marriage tip years ago that couples should go to bed together. Once the hubs drifts off to sleep, I pop up my desk and get to work. You can fold down the legs as well as elevate two-thirds of the tabletop. Also worth noting I use this badboy to stream Real Housewives of any city in bed. Can’t be all work and no play, friends!

Norwex Body Cloths
First of all, I should tell you I dabble here and there as a Norwex consultant. You can read all about that side hustle and the power of these baclock cloths here. I began using these Norwex body cloths to remove my makeup once my drugstore makeup towelettes ran out. Just add warm water and wipe away even the most stubborn mascara. They are budget-friendly and prevent excess waste in landfills.
More recently, I’ve have been toting one on the treadmill in lieu of the Y’s gym towels. Due to the baclock proprieties, body cloths [as well as other Norwex products] can be used several times before needing to wash. Best of all, the cloth will remain stink-free. It’s actually pretty amazing.
