Try as I may, I am having a difficult time uploading my daily Happiness posts so this will be another compilation of happy days! Although these don’t make it to the blog every day, I am writing them down nightly! Thank you, Lord for the relief of Spring time! I have to say, the weather being above freezing certainly helps my happiness cause. It’s tough to be bummed when the sunshine is flooding your house!
Friday, March 13: HAPPINESS IS: Clueless
There’s a scene in the 90’s classic, Clueless, where Cher uses a computer to generate her outfit for the day. It was ahead of its time. The program was combined with a remote-controlled rotating closest and made fashion loving girls across the world green with closet envy.
Friday, as I was pinning packing techniques for my trip to Napa, I came across StyleBook. It’s an app that brings my “Clueless” closest dream to life. Outside of learning apps for my kids, I have never paid for an app, but I didn’t even so much as hesitate to download Stylebook at $4.99.
Sunday, March 15: HAPPINESS IS: all a part of the plan
After months harassment from my friends about the fact that I don’t cook nightly dinners for my husband, I started to come around to their way of thinking. In January, it started off as a few meals a week and by the end of February I was in full on nightly dinner, weekly grocery trips, and meal planning mode. Every Sunday, I sit down and pin recipes for the upcoming week and then write them down in my planner and now on a make-shift white board in our kitchen.
I have to say, meal planning is a great way to alleviate the dinner-time stress. I usually make enough for dinner and for a take-for-lunch-the-next day container for Taylor. It’s definitely been a money saver. I am now a dinner making, meal planning, coupon clipping believer! Special shout-out to Alicia, Nick and Jessica for their endless harassment. You’re officially Taylor’s secret weapon should I ever stop making dinners again.
Monday, March 16: HAPPINESS IS: Sunny and 75
Like I said earlier, it’s hard to be not happy when the sunshine and warmth fill your home. We spent most of Monday afternoon and evening playing outside. A happy baby, a happy dog, and a happy toddler were the perfect accessories to my happiness today. I live for days like these.
Tuesday, March 17: HAPPINESS IS: found while Kroger-ing
These naughty little Leprechauns gave me a run for my money today. By the time Taylor got home and dinner was on the table I had reached my fill of noise and needs. I had planned for today to be my weekly grocery trip, but I wasn’t sure I could muster up the energy to care if there was bread or milk in the house.
Even though I could live another day without the basics, it would be difficult to pack Noah’s lunch and for that reason alone, I collected my coupons, wallet and keys and hopped in the car. It was warm and silent in the car. It didn’t take me but 5 minutes from our driveway to the Kroger parking lot, but I wasn’t ready to give up the peace. So I sat (well I took a selfie for blog documentation, but then I sat).
When I was ready, I went in, grabbed a shopping cart, put on some headphones and got started. This was quite possibly my longest grocery shopping trip yet (80 minutes!), but it was far and away the most enjoyable. I was dance-walking, lip-synching, and throwing things in my cart. I don’t even care who thought I was crazy. I was owning my grocery shopping today.
