Raise your hand if you are not ready for the below 55-degree temps? I can already feel Seasonal Affective Disorder trying to creep in. This year I am determined to not be affected by the winter blues and bitter temps.
Instead, I am making a list of all the things I want to get done around the house while we are trapped inside. There are still 3 more rooms begging to have wallpaper removed, one exposed fireplace that needs sprucing, stairs that need sanding, ceilings that need painting and tile that needs axing. I could go on, but you get the drift, right? It will be hard to nail down what should come first since a lot of these items could have a domino effect. As with most things, it’ll come down to the dollars and cents.

While the colder temps, rainy days, and monthly budget are not a few of my favorite things, I do have some faves to share!
Air-Popped Popcorn Silicone Bowl
I love popcorn. But not movie popcorn or microwave popcorn or even Skinny Pop. I love air-popped popcorn. I have been using the same old Orville Redenbacher air popper for 10 years, until this week when I purchased this silicone microwave, popcorn maker.
You drop 3 tbsp of kernels in the silicone bowl. Microwave it for roughly 2 minutes [and stop once the popping sound slows – just like you would if it was bagged] and voila, perfectly portioned popped corn. The quality of the popped corn is even better than what I was getting with my air-popper. Light, fluffy, and full popped.

I always spray mine with a little 0 calorie Butter Spray and sprinkle some Mr. Kernel’s seasoning on it. Ya gotta live a little, right?
Anyways, I’m obsessed. The silicone bowl even collapses for easy storage. Stop buying that chemically-ridden microwaved popcorn and save some cents. This is exactly what you need for the winter, by a fire, with a movie..and maybe some wine.

Cozy Sweatshirts

I am notoriously cold. In the card Taylor wrote to me on our wedding day, he vowed to always be my personal heater, to keep me warm. During the whole Twilight craze, I wondered if I was, in fact, a vampire.
I have been stocking up on cute sweatshirts that I can wear in and out of the house without the whole frump factor. I am digging these quarter zips from Old Navy and these fuzzy funnel neck sweatshirts from Target.
If full zip or straight pullover is more your jam, here are a few cute and cozy sweatshirts to shop [subscribers – head to the website to view the shoppable images!].

Wet Brush Shine Enhancer

I’ve received more compliments on my hair this week than I ever have in my whole life. The assistant at my dentist even took a photo of my hair to show her stylist. Guys –I haven’t had a color or cut since May. So the only conclusion I can come to for this mane attraction is my new Wet Brush Shine Enhancer.
I’ve been brushing and blow-drying with this each morning before taking my favorite straightener to smooth out where needed. My only gripe is the bristles on the brush have gotten a little haphazard- possibly from the direct contact it has with my blow dryer.
I am always trying new hair products and am here to give my honest feedback. Yes, I do have Kardashian products – no, I am not a fangirl [any more]. The Kardashian line is actually Chi products. I always buy my hair tools at TJ Maxx so if the product page gives you sticker shock, head over to the Maxx and see if you can find it in stock!

Blue Light Blockers

Last but not least, I am 100% here for the fake glasses, er I mean, Blue Light Blockers trend. I’ve been eyeing some cute BLB for a while but couldn’t imagine dropping $50+ them. In so many ways, Amazon saves the day and these $16 glasses arrived courtesy of 1-day Prime shipping last week.
Blue Light Blockers are intended to help with eye strain from computer screens, phones, tablets, etc. If you are experiencing tired eyes or headaches from tech, Blue Light Blocking Glasses may be something to consider.
Though my screens were never giving me headaches, they exhausted my eyes rapidly. Since wearing these, I’ve noticed a decrease in eye exhaustion.
Could be a buncha bull, could be the glasses. Either way, I love a good accessory. Shop some of these cute ones under $20 with Prime Shipping!

Let me know what you’re love love loving right now because I’d love to try it too. Who knows, maybe it’ll show up in the next Friday Faves?
Have a wonderful weekend!
