Hallelujah, We Made It
Something about this week has been downright trying. It could be the dozen of squabbles I’ve had to mediate or the battle with my idle hands, but I’m ready for the weekend.
The Details
Top: Nordstrom Rack // Denim: Nordstrom // Necklace: J. Crew Factory [Similar]
Sunnies: Target // Handbag: Similar, Similar, Similar Style // Shoes: Kate Spade [Similar]
Going for a super classic summer look in this tiered white top and my favorite distressed denim. Both pieces are Nordstrom Rack finds and you won’t believe what I tell you next. This top is marked down to $9.98. I’m wearing my usual size, but would recommend sizing up for a more comfortable fit in the underarm region.
These Leith jeans have been my go-to all summer. The are so comfortable and stretchy, I can actually curl up on the couch in them. More importantly, they do not bag out in the butt or thighs. They run true to size, but if you don’t like a jegging, then size up.
Sadly my knock-off Balenciaga bag is no longer in production due to a cease and desist situation with Steve Madden, but I’ve linked up some cute coral look-a-likes instead.
Update: This top is going fast, fast, fast so I’ve linked up similar styles below:
Five Bloggers to Follow
I am constantly searching, scrolling and supporting other bloggers in this industry. There are so many amazing women in this lifestyle and fashion niche putting in long hours and hard work. Each blogger is different, brings a different perspective on fashion, life, marriage, motherhood, etc to the mix and today I want to celebrate and share five women who I genuinely adore following. Maybe you will too…
Carrie Bradshaw Lied

Kathleen Barnes of Carrie Bradshaw Lied slays in her fashion and brings the laughs to her Instagram stories as she chronicles her life with her husband, Christian. The last few years she blogged from beautiful Orange County and is now a recent transplant to San Fransisco for her husbands Fellowship program. I am excited to see what vintage finds she digs up in the quirky shops SF has to offer.
Pinteresting Plans

Rachel Moore of Pinteresting Plans is previously a Nurse Practioner turned fashion blogger and the mama of two sons. Almost, if not all, of her Instagram captions are tongue-in-cheek and her tag line is something along the lines of “being kind and funny will never go out of style”. Along with super cute and affordable fashion finds for women in their mid-upper thirties, she throws in lifestyle content about her husband’s recovery and how they pay it forward. She’s an A+ follow and I simply adore her spirit.
Thrifty Decor Chick

I’ve been following Sarah for a few years via Pinterest because not only is her home-style spot on, but the first sentence in her “About Me” is “I love decorating on the cheap.” Sold, you had me at cheap. Thrifty Decor Chick maintains a heart-eye emoji worthy instagram feed with shades of blue, white and gray. The blog brings it all together with DIY projects and tutorials. If you’re down for the DIY, you”ll want to check her out!
Poor Little It Girl
I’ve been following Cathy of Poor Little It Girl since 2015. I found her blog through one of the many popular fashion pins of hers on Pinterest. Cathy’s style is a mix of J. Crew, Madewell, and Anthropologie and all of her posts titles are lyrics from a song. Sometimes, she throws in an unexpected twist, but I love the southern prep she brings to her Instagram feed. If you’re interested in blogging or just want to sneak a peak at underbelly, Cathy also provides a plethora of blogging advice in addition to being a founder of The Blog Societies.
I Heart Naptime
Jamielyn Nye is a mom to 4 little ones and six years ago, used nap times to create this amazing blog which has gotten incredibly popular via Pinterest, which is where I stumbled upon it. This trifle dessert is just icing on top of the cake in terms of simple and delicious recipes Jamielyn brings to I Heart Naptime. Don’t even look at her Instagram feed if you are the slightest bit hungry. The bright photos and delectable dishes will make your stomach swoon.
I hope y’all have an amazing weekend lined up and that the sun shines bright on all of your summer time plans. The kids and I are heading to my hometown next week so be sure to check out my Insta-stories for all of our Cincinnati adventures. I will be 100% exhausted when we return home, but our summer bucket list will be darn near complete just in time for the last week of summer break.
I have so many ideas floating around in my head, written down, and typed out in Trello. Is there something you love and want more of on Ooh La Laura? Let me know in the comments section! See you Monday, bright and early, right here on Ooh La Laura.
