Falling for Corduroy
Happy Fall, Y’all!! As sad I was to see summer go, I am just as thrilled to welcome the cooler temps and cozy nights. We are suckers for a Sunday Family Game Night and I am excited to circle back to those family room ragers with our babes. In complete contrast to the cozy
Old Navy and Fall: A Perfect Pair
Did y’all know Old Navy is one of my favorite places to shop during the Fall season? The warm hues and preppy patterns scream my name plus their color palettes stretch from women to men, to children makes coordinating outfits for fall family photos and Thanksgiving a one-stop shop.

This deep burgundy corduroy skirt with front button detail was a must-have piece for me. The top hits right at the waist. I’m wearing my regular size and it is too tight to delight in any pumpkin pie, but the hip + booty are especially roomy. It’s worth a visit to the dressing room or ordering two sizes and returning what doesn’t work before settling in with this style.

Prep + PSL
I paired the skirt with one of my favorite patterns in a button up: a nearly-navy blue checked shirt. Let all the preppy girls ooh and ahh when it comes to a checked button up in the fall. Old Navy is making strides in their sizing and fit and now offer a “slim-fit” option which is allows for a more tailored look.
Ordinarily, I find their clothing to run large and boxy and have been known to shop the Girls’ Section in order to find something more fitted. This shirt does not disappoint. I find this shirt to runs true to size and best yet – no button gaping at the chest.

Layers are a Love Language
Ooh La Layers. It’s my jam and from a styling standpoint, the best part about cooler seasons. Throw on a utility vest [an outerwear piece going three years strong] and a knit scarf for a crisp day outdoors. Take it all down a layer when the indoor heat and/or red wines start to warm things up.

October in Kentucky means horse-racing season at Keeneland. It’s a twice-yearly past time I’ve cherished since my college days at the University of Kentucky. If you’re heading that way, this is the perfect outfit for a day at the races. I styled it specifically for a day at the track, but it’s also perfect for a vineyard vacation, church and lunch, a wedding shower, and especially Thanksgiving dinner with friends or family.
Is fall the best time of year? Let me know your vote in the comment sections below. I’m torn, but leaning towards heck yes!
