I Went In For Diapers…
I think there needs to be a support group for Target shoppers. I went in for diapers and wipes when suddenly a magnetic force led me to the dressing room with an armload of apparel.
I loaded my [very first!] dressing room chronicles to my Insta-stories today. If you’re like me, a sound-off viewer, then read on for the basic rundown of these garments.
A Little House on the Prairie Moment
Wearing an XS // TTS
Suggested Accessories: Earrings // Shoes // Bag
It’s honestly a really cute dress, perfect for a graduation, church and brunch, and/or work. The blue and white stripes offer a blank canvas to dress up or down with accessories galore.
If I were to own: I’d pair with statement earrings and a neutral or white wedge. Other options for styling include a colorful block heel, switching out the belt, adding a broach to the neckline, a simple monogram to the high neck, pair with pearl or diamond [faux or real] studs.
We Could’ve Had It All…
Wearing XS in both // Runs Larger
Suggested Accessories: Necklace // Earrings // Wedges // Bootie // Slides
Or Nothing at all. When I picked up this Universal Threads “not a romper, not yet a jumpsuit” and paired it with the cut off denim jacket, I was sold. Had I not made my way to the fitting room, I would have been sorely disappointed when I got home and realized it needed to go back. The straps are ill-fitting and I could use a more cropped denim vest.
If I were to own: I would style this with a brushed silver/gold, multi strand necklace or hoops in a similar metal, espadrille wedges or a tan sandal bootie heel for dressing up and slide sandals for casual wear.
I Like More Butt Coverage and I Cannot Lie
Top: Small; Size Down // Shorts: 2; Size Up
Suggested Accessories: Shoes // Ball Cap // Earrings
Y’all, I can justify spending a pretty penny on jeans. I tend to wear them on the daily from fall through spring. When it comes to something I can only wear 3 months out of the year, I’m not sure I can handle it. I found the most amazing high-waist cutoffs but they ring up over $120. I am on the hunt for the right fit, coverage and fray. If I score…you’ll be the first to know.
If I were to own: I would size down in the top, size up in the bottoms, throw on some cute summer kicks, a baseball cap and stud earrings.
If You’re Hiding a Bump, This One’s For You
Top: S; Size Down // Shorts: 2; Size Up
Top // [suggested] Denim
Suggested Accessories: Heel// Bracelets // Earrings
The head on view of this shirt is adorable and I can just imagine it with a colored denim. Unfortunately, this mama has maternity-shirt PTSD and the side view made me feel pregnant all over again. If you are hiding an early bump, a big lunch, or an afternoon of day-drinking, this adorable shirt is calling your name.
If I were to own: I’d style with colored denim, a block heel, several bracelets and dangly earrings.
Bend it like [Victoria] Beckham
Top: Small; Size Down // Bottom: Small; Size Down
Similar Set
Suggested Accessories: Heel // Studs // Handbag
Do you remember this Victoria Beckham look from the early 2000s? This Xhilaration two piece [sold separately] set gives me similar vibes. This set is casual enough for a festival on the waterfront and can also be dressed up for a vacay date night. The white is see through enough that it requires a neutral panty, but not so sheer that you can see skin tone. I actually wanted to own this set, but wanted to size down and it’s MIA on Target’s website. If you come across it…pick me up an XS in the top and bottom.
If I were to own: I would style with a colored block heel, diamond studs, and a straw bag.
That’s All She Wrote
I actually did get the diapers and wipes I went in for and by some miracle, got out of Target for under $100. Sadly, I didn’t grab any of these items for myself because I live and die by a budget now [nothing sounds more 32 right?]. I actually did score some crazy items in the Girls department and can’t wait to shoot the looks for you. You know an XL in the girls department is really like an XS in Juniors…
