I know you guys, I want to eat all the comfort food right now too. I want to hole up with a big bag of chips, an endless supply of cookies, and a few quarts of ice cream.

However, seeking comfort from these junk foods can actually increase levels of depression. In fact, A 2017 study found that cutting out junk foods and focusing on whole foods like fresh vegetables, fruits, clean fats, and proteins can improve depression by 32%.
I think we can all agree, depression with a side of weight gain is the last thing we need to add to our lives right now. So what can you do when you want something that warms the heart and body without sending it into a sugar-driven tailspin? Give my CauliOats Comfort in a Bowl a try!
CauliOats Comfort in a Bowl
•1/4 cup Gluten-Free Rolled Oats (@traderjoes)
•2 tbsp Chia Seeds
•1 tbsp Powder Peanut Butter or a clean Nut Butter (RX Vanilla Almond Nut Butter is my absolute favorite!)
•6 oz Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
•1 tbsp Cacao Powder
•3/4 cup Riced Cauliflower
•1/2 tbsp Collagen Peptides (optional for an added boost of protein)
Heat up riced cauliflower in the microwave until soft. Give it a little smash or blend to make it creamier. Add the oats, chia seeds, powder peanut butter or nut butter of choice, collagen peptides (optional), cacao powder to the bowl. Give it a good little mix, then add the unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Let it sit in fridge for 30 minutes or until the oats have soaked to softness.
I prefer my bowls warm so nuke it for 30 seconds, stir, and then nuke for another 30 seconds. Repeat until warmed through.
Top with your favorite berries, cacao nibs (or dark chocolate shavings), coconut shavings, and/or tree nut of choice. I love toasted walnut pieces.
